Summer Travel Checklist

Are you planning a summer road trip? Here are some tips for a worry-free travel that gets you exactly where you want to be safely and back again.

Before setting out schedule a preventative maintenance check up with a SOGGDA members repair facility or your local mechanic.

During your trip, take frequent breaks to stop and rest or stay overnight if extremely fatigues. If possible share the driving with a traveling companion.

Always make sure everyone in the car is safely buckled up.

Safety Checklist Before You Travel 

• Tires - Check pressure, tread wear & spare tire

• Belts & Hoses - Condition and fittings

• Wiper Blades - Check for wear and tear on both sides

• Cooling System - Check coolant levels/if service is needed

• Fluid Levels - Check oil, brakes, transmission, power steering & wind shield washer

• Lights - Headlights, brakes, turn signals, emergency flashers, interior lights, and trailer lights

• Air Conditioning - Check AC performance before traveling
